For as long as I can remember, I have loved to take pictures. I remember being so persistent with my mom in the Salvation Army one time, when I was about 8 or 9 - there was an old 35mm camera on the shelf for $2. I wanted it SO badly, and my mom, sensible woman that she was, tried in vain to talk me out of it. Nobody really puts a decent camera in the Salvation Army...but my persistence paid off and she bought it, just so she could go back to looking for new curtains in peace.
The next day she took me to The Trading Post in Hawley (now it's The Trading Post & WhatKnots) and the lady behind the counter - was her name Margie? I know her husband was Harold - put new batteries in the camera for me and loaded the film. I eagerly used up the roll and mom took me back to The Trading Post to send the film out for developing. I had to wait several days! The pain!
Only to discover...the camera didn't work. Gee. Mom tried to warn me...
Anyway, many years and several cameras later, I am totally in love with the digital age, especially as a real estate agent. How did real estate get anywhere without digital cameras? I wanted to share some of my favorite Lake Wallenpaupack photos with you. Enjoy!

Marchel - thanks for stopping by. Truer words were never spoken - Lake Wally is a picturesque place!
Shannon- I appreciate the comment! When I worked at the photography shop, I ran the 1-hour film lab. For a while, we were the only ones in the area. Once the drug stores and WalMart added their one hour labs, ours pretty much shut down. Sad really. I do remember a LOT of REALTORS coming in, sometimes with only three or four shots on a roll, needing the have them "ready" ASAP.
Katerina - I am so sorry for missing your comment! I did see it this morning and probably got distracted in between - half the time I have to stop, answer the phone, put out some kind of fire, etc. and then come back and hit "post reply".
Thank you for the comment - and I look forward to seeing your photos. I don't think I'd like living where there were no autumn - it's truly my favorite time of the year.
Awesome video!! Great photos!! What a spectacular setting. Thank you for sharing.
Ashley - the hard part was picking the photos to include! LOL
Barbara - thank you! It is a lovely lake. I was once up in a small plane (my cousin has a pilot's license) and we flew over the lake - I couldn't believe how HUGE the lake is - seeing it from the air is truly a treat! Too bad I only had a junky camera back in those days...
Thesa - thanks! These RES shows are better than sliced bread!
Karen,
Great pictures as always. I think autumn is the prettiest time of year. I can hardly wait for it to cool down so I can curl up with a cup of cocoa and a good book.
